Supporting Coastal Communities and Marine Ecosystems
Based in Pondicherry, Kuddle Life Foundation is a charitable, non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to uplifting coastal communities while protecting fragile marine ecosystems.
A flagship initiative of the foundation is the installation of artificial reefs — man-made structures designed to replicate natural reefs. These reefs not only revive damaged marine habitats but also provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for marginalized artisanal fishing communities.
In 2024 and 2025, Escon extended its support by funding scientific research to study the ecological and socio-economic impacts of this first reef.
Currently, Escon is also sponsoring the creation of a second reef, constructed using waste concrete and materials repurposed by KEC International (an RPG Group company) from their Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) project. Expected to be installed by October 2025, this initiative highlights how collaboration can turn waste into social and environmental value, proving that when people work together, we can reduce, reuse, and recycle for the greater good of both nature and communities.
